Designing for Multilingual Learners: Language, Culture, and Identity
This course explores how inclusive design affirms the identities of multilingual learners by embedding language development and cultural responsiveness into all aspects of teaching and learning. Participants will learn how to integrate language-rich supports and affirm students’ cultural funds of knowledge in ways that foster belonging, access, and academic growth. Emphasis is placed on asset-based thinking, co-planning with specialists, and designing instruction that supports both content and language learning.

Inclusive Assessment and Instruction for EAL Students
This course provides educators with strategies to design and adapt instruction and assessment practices that are inclusive of English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners. It emphasizes language development as an integrated part of all subject areas and explores how to assess student learning without conflating language proficiency with content knowledge. Participants will learn how to apply culturally responsive pedagogy, differentiate instruction, and use assessment data to inform supports that build both language and academic achievement.

Supporting Language Development Across the Curriculum
This course focuses on integrating intentional language development strategies into all subject areas to support multilingual learners. It emphasizes that language is not only learned in language arts classes but through rich, interactive experiences across disciplines. Educators will explore how to embed academic vocabulary, structure oral and written discourse, and support content learning through language-rich instructional design.

Honouring First Language and Cultural Funds of Knowledge
This course explores how educators can recognize, value, and integrate students’ home languages and cultural experiences as powerful assets in the inclusive classroom. Participants will examine how cultural funds of knowledge shape learning, communication, and identity—and how schools can affirm these strengths to foster deeper engagement and belonging.

Strengthening Home–School Partnerships with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Families
This course empowers educators to build meaningful, reciprocal relationships with families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Participants will explore how communication, trust, and power dynamics shape family engagement and learn strategies to foster inclusive, collaborative partnerships that honour family knowledge, values, and voice.
